Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Data Modeler with over 8 years of experience to lead data modeling initiatives across enterprise platforms. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in designing conceptual, logical, and physical data models to support analytics, reporting, and operational needs. You will work closely with data architects, engineers, and business stakeholders to translate complex business requirements into robust data models.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models using industry best practices.
- Collaborate with data architects and business stakeholders to understand business processes and data requirements.
- Develop and maintain enterprise data models, data dictionaries, and metadata repositories.
- Perform data profiling and source-to-target mapping for integration and ETL processes.
- Optimize database structures for performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Ensure data governance, data quality, and compliance standards are incorporated into data modeling activities.
- Review and approve changes to data models, ensuring consistency and integrity across projects.
- Work with cross-functional teams in Agile/Scrum environments to deliver data solutions.
- Train and mentor junior data modelers and analysts.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
- 8+ years of professional experience in data modeling, data architecture, or related field.
- Strong hands-on experience with data modeling tools such as ER/Studio, Erwin, PowerDesigner, or SAP PowerDesigner.
- In-depth knowledge of RDBMS (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, etc.) and NoSQL databases.
- Expertise in data warehousing concepts, star/snowflake schema design, and dimensional modeling.
- Strong understanding of ETL processes, data integration, and data governance frameworks.
- Familiarity with Cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and modern data stack tools.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Proven ability to lead complex data modeling initiatives across enterprise environments.
